Steel plate spiral pipes are typically manufactured by straight-seam or helical-seam welding, with a fundamentally similar roll-forming process: shearing (or cutting) → beveling → flipping the steel plate → rounding the ends into arcs → forming large-diameter coils (including spot welding) → butt-jointing pipe sections (including spot welding) → welding the circular ends (using automatic welding).

Furthermore, equipment analysis of the three-roll plate‑rolling machine used to form the coil—comprising one upper roll and two lower rolls—revealed noticeable pitting on the upper roll, indicating that the roll’s surface has undergone slight deformation due to foreign material.

  Requirements for cutting steel plate rolled pipes:

  (1) When cutting pipes with a saw blade or using a manual hydraulic pipe cutter, place an oil pan beneath the equipment or vise to prevent oil from contaminating the floor.

  (2) When steel plates are cut using abrasive wheels, plasma cutting, or oxy‑acetylene flame cutting, the resulting slag, oxides, iron filings, scrap sawdust, and abrasive wheel debris must be collected in a unified manner. These materials shall then be gathered by the transportation authorities and handed over to qualified disposal agencies or health departments for proper treatment. Waste that is prone to being left behind during transport—particularly waste that could contaminate soil and groundwater—must be transported in sealed vehicles. Before departure, vehicle wheels must be cleaned to prevent leaks that could pollute road surfaces.

  (3) When the diameter of steel‑plate coil tubes exceeds 500 mm, the dosage and particle size of TN must be strictly controlled to prevent excessive dosing and particle size from causing pipeline damage, necessitating reprocessing, wasting resources, and polluting the environment.
